DSM-V Assessment & Diagnosis

DSM-V (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders 5th Edition) is used when you want to bill insurance. DSM-V emphasizes patient participation. A psychiatrist or physician who prescribes medication uses an electronic health record system that has DSM-V built into it. My assessment is built into the Progress Note using standards established by NASW professional education in California.
